Rosalind Robinson Jeffries is a powerful speaker specializing in art history, the cultural determiners of behavior, and the course of events in history.  She analyzes paintings, sculpture, and the visual arts of peoples around the world, but especially, Africans and also Africans in the global diaspora.  She is a museum curator, educator, lecturer, and an inspirational God-conscious presenter who works to uplift the oppressed, give new insights to the intellectual, and spark community zealots.

Dr. Jeffries has an earned Ph. D. From Yale University.  At present she is on the teaching faculty of the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  Last year she was awarded a one year Arthur Schomburg faculty position at Ramapo College, teaching faculty and students in African American history, studies in racism, and involvement in arts and cultural exhibitions.  About fifteen years ago she was employed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Center for African Art.  She lived and researched in Africa, 1965 and 1966.  As a co-leader she lectured and traveled throughout Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, and Asia.

Rosalind was named Nana Essie Abibio, Queen Mother of Education, Development and Social Services of the Edina Traditional Area in Elmina where the infamous slave castle was built in 1482 and where tens of thousands of our ancestors were imprisoned before shipment to the U.S. and the Caribbean to be enslaved. Paramount Chief Nana Conduah VI performed the enstoolment, Rosalind’s second. She was awarded the honor in 1986 in Agogo, along with her husband, noted scholar, Dr. Leonard Jeffries.
